Echara community in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was on Thursday night thrown into jubilation as the solar light project executed by the Senator Representating Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Ken Eze was handed over to the community for use.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, a former member of the House of Representatives and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Ugo Chima, applauded the Senator for bringing such life touching project to his community and urged his people to reciprocate the gesture by giving maximum support to the Senator, Governor Francis Nwifiru and the APC. He equally admonished them to guide the project against thieves.
He commended the quality represention of the Senator and enjoined the people to give full support to the Senator at the appropriate time.
"I am really very happy for this solar light project that come to our community through our representative, Senator Ken Eze. We're elated and Happy. It shows he is working. We will continue to give him support as long as he brings dividends of democracy which he has been doing. We're satisfied with him so far.
"To the users of this light which is our community, I really want them to appreciate this good gesture by protecting it because the rate of stealing these days is very alarming and solar light is one of the product thieves like to have. So, am urging them to make sure they protect what has been given to them and give full support at the appropriate time to the donor which is Senator Ken Eze and to give full support to the APC and Governor Francis Nwifiru".
Addressing the people, the Coordinator of Ezza South East Development Center, Mrs Vivian Ogbuewu express Joy over the projects and assured that Echara Community will always give their full support to the Senator because they have gained a lot from him since he assumed office.
Others who spoke during the event include the APC chairman, Echara Ward, Mr Uchenna Nworie, the secretary of the town union, Mr Vincent Ogbuewu, the woman leader, Mrs Cordelia Nwafor, representative of Christian Association of Nigeria in Ezza South, Pastor Mike Ogbuewu among others, eulogized the Impactful Representation of Senator Ken Eze and vowed to continue to support him to do more for them.
On his part, the contractor that handled the project, Engr Ben -Kalio Adokiya of Opic Investment Abuja, commended the people for their peaceful and hospitable dispositions, noting that throughout his stay at the project site, he did not encounter any problems or theft to his equipment.
Speaking during the handover of the solar light to the community, Senator Ken Eze, represented by his Legislative Aide, Engr Chibuzor Emmanuel Nweke said that the solar light project is part of the Senator's ongoing rural light up project which is aimed at installing solar street lights across Communities in Ebonyi Central.
He appreciated the people for their warm sentiments, support and solidarity and revealed that plans has been concluded to sink boreholes at strategic location within the community to solve the water needs of the people in the area.
He hinted that his Boss, Senator Eze is set for a mega empowerment program for the people of Ebonyi Central, which will be cash and material items and urged them to keep supporting him and the state Governor, Chief Francis Nwifiru, whom he said, is driving home his people's charter of needs Agenda religiously, to the greater good of the people. He poured out his intentions to complete all his ongoing projects across the senatorial zone.
The people chanted solidarity songs in appreciation to the Senator and the state Governor for the project, as they watch the whole area being illuminated.
