The Chief Executive Officer Tycoon group of companies, Dr. Benson Iyke Okpala has in spirit of Christmas, has put smiles on faces of over two hundred widows, orphans, persons with disabilities among others selected from different Churches, Schools and organizations in Ebonyi State .
The Christmas party with the less privileged, held at Tycoon hotels in Abakaliki, witnessed the distribution of 12.5 kg bags of rice, clothes, phantom of wrappers, cash gift among other valuable items to the beneficiaries.
In his remark, the Tycoon Chief Executive Officer said the gesture was born out of his unreserved love for God, passion for the physically challenged persons and downtroddens in the society and also to complement the efforts of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru in putting smiles on the faces of Ebonyi people especially the needy.
According to him "this is an annual programme that God has laid in my heart to be celebrating with the less privileged as a way of thanking him for his abundant grace, mercy and enormous favor upon my life, my family and entire tycoon group of companies"
He disclosed that the company through its welfare department has sponsored many students on scholarship both in primary, secondary and tertiary education across the State
and reitrated his decision to continue to render selfless services to humanity for the betterment of the society.
He commended the State Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru for providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State.
Earlier in a sermon, a Clergy of Anglican Church, Reverend Ernest Onyemekara, urged people to remain faithful to God despite challenges and stressed the need for all and sundry to help others with what God blessed them with to attract more blessings.
The cleric called on government at all levels and well spirited individuals to emulate the philanthropic disposition of tycoon chief executive officer for the betterment of the society.
On behalf of Ebonyi State Association of the deaf, Ebonyi Mmaduabuchi expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and tycoon CEO for remembering them at this critical time.
He said "Your kindness, hospitability and commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities and less privileged citizens of Ebonyi State have not gone unnoticed" He prayed God to replenish the benefactor in millionfolds.
Other beneficiaries who could not hide their joy including Mrs Nwamkpu Helen, Mrs Rosemary Nwankwegu thanked the tycoon boss for remembering them and prayed for more God's favor, protection and prosperity upon his life and family.
