With the  prouncement, there is an eruption of excitement in the air and celebration galore across the regions of  Ghana as people  took to the  streets to celebrate the monumental electoral victory of His Excellency, Dr. John Dramani Mahama . `` It's a new beginning of economic recovery;  a new beginning of hope and structural development, a Ghanaian  told 4th Estate Reporters, `` during an interview session after the declaration.

Meanwhile, critical Igbo leaders, the business community, and prominent Nigerians living in Ghana have joined other African leaders to congratulate the President - elect, His Excellency, Dr. John Dramani Mahama , over his electoral  victory in  the December 7, 2024, presidential election.

Speaking from his revered Obiukwu, Obigbo, Obieziokwu palace in Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu congratulated the newly elected President of Ghana, H.E Dr. John Mahama, for his landmark victory at the poll, describing the election as one of the most peaceful, free and fair elections conducted in the annals of history.

Commending  the presidential candidate  of the ruling  New Patriotic Party  (NPP),  His Excellency Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia,  for demonstrating  rare leadership and sportsmanship by conceeding defeat and congratulating the winner of the election and opposition leader of National Democratic Party , Dr. John Dramani Mahama, Eze Ihenetu  said that he has written his name in the sands of history as a Democrat, true patriot, and statesman who places the interest of the Nation above personal interest and that of his political party, the NPP, maintaining that both history and posterity will be kind to him.

Recall that the peace- loving Igbo diaspora King in Ghana,  and avowed  bridge builder, HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Eze-igbo Ghana ), prior to the Saturday's elections lent his strong voice alongside  the National Peace Council of Ghana to advocate for a free, fair, and peaceful conduct of the presidential election while urging Igbo people and Nigerians living in Ghana to remain law abiding and eschew the temptation of being used by any political parties to cause violence as the exercise is purely for Ghanians who are eligible to vote and not foreigners. He also  saluted the resilience of the leadership of the ruling party, the NPP, and its presidential candidate, Bawumia, while maintaining that the election has been won and lost, and it is victory for democracy.

Speaking in the same vein, HRM Eze Dr. O. D. Nwandu (Akaraka lll of Ihiteaforukwu) also congratulated Ghanians for freely expressing their civic rights by voting their choice  candidates into  the various elective positions without fear or favour, describing the election as the most peacefully conducted, free and fair elections in history.

Eze Dr. Okwudiri Divine Nwandu, while congratulating the newly elected President, His Excellency Dr. John Dramani Mahama,  on his electoral victory last Saturday, said that his  victory is not a surprise to keen observers of Ghana's political leadership and economic trajectory as people truly desired a change of government having experienced alot of setbacks in the last 7 years under the outing administration.

He regretted that a number of the  economic policies implemented under President Nana Akufo- Addo  are inimical to business growth as businessmen struggled to pay  the high  cost of both custom and  import  duties while inflation took a dangerous turn in the country.

According to the international business man and custodian of Igbo culture and tradition, Eze Dr. O.D. Nwandu, the  defeat in Saturday’s election will inadvertently end the  eight years in power for the NPP marked by a declining  economic performance ,  high inflation,  and a debt default.

He however, maintained that Ghana is a very peaceful country, peopled with law abiding citizens, and blessed  with both human and natural resources,  trusting that the incoming government under President - elect, H.E. John Dramani Mahama will reset and reposition the country once again just like his American counterpart, Donald J. Trump  of America.
