Ikwo Council Boss Renews Commitment To Welfare, Youth Inclusiveness

The Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Barr Sunday Nwankwo has reinstated his administration's commitment to welfare, youth Inclusiveness and legacy programmes in Ikwo Noyo Clan. He stated this while interacting with journalists in Abakaliki. 


Barr. Nwankwo who was recently honoured with a Chieftaincy title of Eze Oha by Uwueka General Assembly in recognition of his exceptional leadership qualities, noted that his administration would not be distracted by any negative criticism, but would remain open to suggestions and ideas that would further unite the Local Government, and empower the youths for self reliance. He explained that he would continue to prioritise the people's welfare inline with Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's people's charter of needs mantra.


"We are not relenting or distracted in our commitment to delivering legacy programmes and projects to our people. We might be slow in the eyes of some people, but down there we are moving forward in delivering on our promises to the people of Ikwo Noyo Clan.


"Recently, I announced plan to convert the loan being processed for immediate past and current Councillors to grant if they judiciously utilize the fund. This is another way to encourage them to make better use of the funds and for it to have multiplier effect on people at the grassroots. We shall soon flag off Youth ICT Skills empowerment programme and by the grace of God, we are also making plans to ensure that our people have something to celebrate Christmas in style."


Speaking on areas of security, the Chairman applauded Councilors, town union presidents and other community leaders for their efforts in ensuring peace and security in their various communities. He promised to sustain his open door policy and called on stakeholders and security agencies to redouble their efforts to guarantee absolute peace and security in all parts of Ikwo during and after the yelitude.


The Council Boss advised youths of Ikwo Noyo Clan to be vanguards of positive change, avoid insulting leaders through the social media and promised to continue to carry the youths along in his administration.
