Ebonyi Central Media Practitioners Forum; an organisation made up of all known media practitioners of Ebonyi Central extraction have applauded the achievements of the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, Engr Ken Chukwuemeka Eze within his one years and some months in office.
The group in a release signed by the Chairman, Comrade Godwin Okafor, Secretary Israel Ekene Mbam and made available to journalists in Abakaliki, commended the Senator for his leadership ingenuity anchored on human development, youth empowerment, legislative prowess and infrastructural development.
The group noted that Senator Eze has facilitated the employment of many youths of the zone into federal agencies, gave financial grants to groups and individuals, gave incentive to farmers, scholarship to students, executed infrastructural projects across the zone.
The media organization noted that Senator Eze moved several motions and sponserd many peoples centred Bills included: "Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact NBC Act 2024.
"Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact Nigerian Press Council Act 2024
"Bill to establish National Eye Centre.
"Bill for Price Control Amendment Act to suit the present Day Economy
"Bill for an act to establish National Internship and Unemployment Benefits Scheme 2024.
"Sponsored a motion to investigate the Activities of Electricity Distribution Companies across the country.
"Co-sponsored a motion for an urgent need to balance Geo-political Representation in the ministerial appointment.
"Co-sponsored a motion for urgent need to withdraw from schools the book “Fundamental of Civic Education for Basic 8 (Jss 2).
"Sponsored a motion for inclusion of the construction of Ezzagu Ebonyi State /Amagunze Enugu State road, in the 2024 budget.
"Co-sponsored a motion on the poor state of road infrastructure and menace of gully erosion in Nigeria.
"Co-sponsored a motion condemning the disruptive nature of sit-at-home demonstration in the South-East of Nigeria.
"Co-sponsored a motion on urgent need to historically investigate the disbursement of loans by Development Bank of Nigeria, NIIRSAL and related banks to Micro, Small and Medium scale enterprise (MSMEs) in Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.
"Co-sponsored a motion on the Urgent need to investigate alleged incidences pf corruption and inefficiency at the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited and National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) located in Kogi State among others.
The media forum also congratulated Senator Eze on his 2025 Empowerment Programme on Saturday 4th January, 2025 and pledged their readiness to partner with the Senator and other stakeholders of the zone to make life better for the citizens. They called on other political office holders and groups in the zone to close ranks and ensure that the welfare of the constituents remains their priority.
