Ebonyi Commissioner Calls For Adherence To Effective Building Control In Abakaliki Capital City

Ebonyi State Commissioner, Ministry of Capital City Development and Urban Planning Chief Sunday Elechi Inyima have stressed on the need to ensure effective development control within Abakaliki Capital City metropolis.

Chief Sunday  Inyima said this during a courtesy visit to the new  Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Uche Anya, in Abakaliki.

He noted that the Ebonyi State Ministry of Capital City Development which was the then board was created by the past administration  and have been charged to ensure that developers in the state conform with the rules and regulations guiding the state government development control law of the state and the effort of the current government lead by His Excellency,Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in making Ebonyi state  the best in the country through town planning and regulation of structures within the capital city.

He stated that Human management is a difficult task but then, it is the responsibility of every one to contribute his or her quota in the development of the state and to ensure that developers adopt to the standing order in line with the state government directive.

Responding to this, the Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya in a warm welcome said her office is always open to ensure that maintenance of law and order which is  her call for duty.

She said that the duty of the police is to secure lives and properties 
in the State. She assured of her office synergy with the Ministry.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Barrister Albert Alo appreciated the Commissioner  for the warm reception given to them.

He noted that Ebonyi State remains the only state that records low rate in collapsing of buildings in Nigeria and appealed that police would be of great importance in assisting the ministry do the work efficiently  and effectively.
