The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and Chairman House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON and the Executive Chairman, Ikwo Local Government Area, this Monday, led other dignitaries in welcoming to Ebonyi state, Norwegian Envoy, Svein Baera on his official visit to Ebonyi State College of Education, Ikwo for the reactivation of Agricultural program, Educational program, Child and Maternal Care.
Recall that on the 20th of November, 2024, the Federal Lawmaker Ogah made an official visit to the office of the Norwegian Ambassador Svein Baera at Royal Norwegian Embassy in Abuja, appealing for partnership and relocation to Ebonyi State.
However, the arrival of the Norwegian Ambassador to Ebonyi State is a testament to Ogah’s proposal, acknowledging the historical ties between Norway and Ikwo. Having made his consultation with his team, Svein Baera has come to Ebonyi State for the partnership as appealed by the lawmaker.
Other arrangements and plans have been concluded by the Stakeholders and elders of Ikwo for his reception in Ikwo Local Government Area and the relocation of the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Global Provider of Expertise (NOCAP) to the area.
The Airport reception in honor of the visiting Norwegian Ambassador held at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu witnessed the presence of Deputy Principal Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Oke Oreke, Commissioner for border peace and conflict resolution, Dr Donatus Ilang, Member II, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Monday Nwigbo, among other relevant stakeholders from Ikwo Local Government Area.
