Harvests Of Royal Honor In Ebonyi Community

It was indeed, a harvest of Royal honor on Saturday, 12th day of April, 2025 as Ebonyi people both at home and in diaspora emptied into Nzashi Echara country home of His Royal Highness Eze Nwakpu Eze,  traditional ruler of Ndiegu Echara Autonomous Community in Ilwo Local Government Area of the state, as he marked his 49th Anniversary on the throne, honouring over twenty Ebonyi sons and daughters with distinguished chieftaincy titles in recognition of their modest constructions in societal development.

Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,  congratulated the royal father and people of Echara Nkpoke for such a remarkable feat.


Represented by the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, the Governor expressed his trust and support to the traditional institutions, and commended Eze Nwakpu Egbe for his steadfast leadership and dedication to service to the people of Echara for the past 49 years. He thanked the people for their support to the leadership of the Traditional Ruler, which has resulted in the enthronement of l peace in the Community, and enjoined them to remain an agent of peace and development.

"Today, we have gathered to celebrate your wisdom, your leadership, your selflessness, and vision, which you have been displaying  to your people for the past 49 years. This rare milestone deserves to be celebrated, and we are happy to be here today."

Governor Nwifuru wished him good health, strength and divine guidance, as he continue to lead his people.

Earlier, the first son of the Traditional Ruler, Prince Onuoha Nwakpu, thanked the guests for coming to celebrate their father alive, and prayed for God's blessings upon them.

The Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Barr Sunday Nwankwo, the town union President of Ndiegu Echara Autonomous Community, Dr Azubuike Onwe, and the Chairman of the occasion, Barr Okeagu Ogadah, thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for his support to the Traditional Institutions in the State, and eulogized Eze Nwakpu Egbe and also, prayed for God's continuous guidance and protection upon him and his Kingdom.


Highlight of the event was the conferment of a Chieftaincy title of "Onu Oma Nne 1 of Echara Autonomous Community" to the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, whose mother was an indigene of Echara Community.

Others who received Chieftaincy titles are;
The Executive Chairman, Ikwo Local Government Area, Barr Sunday Nwankwo, The Member representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Chief Emmanuel Uguru;
The Honorable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Ben Odoh, the Parents of the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Chief and Dr Mrs Simon Nwode.

Others include;
Chief Christian Asaga Nwali, Engr Darlington Ugota, Chief Kingsley Nwuruku, Chief Silas Orawo, Chief Celestine Igberi Nweme, Dr Abraham Mbam Nweke, Dr Sam Nte Egwu, Chief Silas Oginyi, Prof. James Nwite, Mrs Mary Chinedu-Ogah and Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Comrade Oguzor Offia-Nwali

Dignitaries and awardees who spoke to our correspondent include, Chief Kingsley Nwuruku, chief Christian Asaga Nwali, Chief Emmanuel Uguru Chief Mrs Mary Chinedu Ogah, Dr Donatus Ilang,  Mr Maurice Mbam among others commended the royal father for enthroning peace in the community and for the honor done to them pledge to continue to make contribution for the development 

Prince Iruka Nwakpu, son of the traditional ruler expressed Joy over the mammoth personalities that honored the event, attributing it to peace that is existing in the community. He guests and members of the community for honouring the family.

Families, friends. well wishers and other personalities from all walks of life witnessed the event.
 
The event withnessed various cultural display to add glamour to it.
